Groups of second year students at DUCE were caught on college camera this week showcasing instructional media they made on their own as part of CT 201 course.
The exercise is aimed to enable the students to use locally available resources to make their own teaching media assuming that schools face slim budgets for purchase of instructional resources.
‘This is a crucial step in training young teachers,’ noted Mr. Eliud Kabelege who was supervising students in one of the lecture rooms adding that creativity and innovation were at the heart of assessments.
Dr. Josta Nzilano said that the exercise was all about showcasing creativity on the part of the students who will soon be posted to teach in different schools by the end of this academic year.
Students said exclusively that they were satisfied with the assessment exercise and hoped to do more during the forthcoming Teaching Practice (TP) in schools where they will be posted.
