Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) has affirmed the decision to take NSSF houses in Mtoni-Kijichi Village for students’ accommodation. DUCE is among the Higher Learning Institutions (HLIs) eyeing the former NSSF houses following the government plans to let the houses to HLIs.

During the tour of Mtoni-Kijichi houses yesterday, the Principal of DUCE, Prof. Stephen Oswald Maluka, was optimistic that the houses will solve the long standing problem of shortage of accommodation among the students at the College.

‘With limited space at DUCE campus, Mtoni-Kijichi houses will save us, ’ Prof. Maluka said adding that the current shortage of accommodation will be history when the houses are transformed into hostels for students.

Institutions involved in the letting of NSSF houses include DUCE, Institute of Financial Management, Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology, Tanzania Institute of Accountancy, Institute of Diplomatic Relations, and Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy.
