DUCE has conducted an orientation programme to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The orientation week started from 29th October to 4th November 2022. The programme was organized by the office of the Dean of students. Groups of first-year students arrived at College grounds seeking for admission procedures.

Speaking during the welcoming event, the Dean of Students, Ms. Natu Msuya urged students to maintain their mental health by avoiding psychological defaults. She said her office will continue taking care of welfare issues like guidance and counseling, students’ health, cafeteria services, accommodation and sports.

After the general session, a team of officers from all faculties and departments organized themselves to ensure that first year undergraduate and postgraduate students receive a warm welcoming support and are given relevant instructions.

In that manner, first year students were kept in groups in different venues according to their faculties. Deans, in their relevant faculties, highlighted important issues to be noted by students, including, course programmes, admission procedures, College regulations, character development and university life in general.

Speaking to during the assembly, the Director of undergraduate studies, Dr. Hezron Onditi said during the orientation period more than 2281 undergraduate students and 199 postgraduate students were admitted, and the admission process is still in progress.
