DUCE in collaboration with the Ministry of livestock and fisheries, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and IYAFA 2022 National Steering Committee organized some exhibitions and dialogues from 12nd to 14th April, 2022.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Mr. Yahya Mgawe, the Chairman of IYAFA 2022 National Steering Committee, said the United Nations has dedicated the year 2022 to be an International year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture (IYAFA 2022) to celebrate the contribution of small scale fishers and fish farmers in food security and poverty eradication.

Several delegates with their associations attended and presented papers. These include DUCE-CSPR, WWF Tanzania, TAWFA, MLF Gender Desk, EMEDO, TAFIRI, AAT, AFO, GSI Tanzania, Tanzania Bureau Standards, KUMIDEU Ukerewe, KIUMAMA Somanga, among others.

During the closing ceremony, the College Principal, Prof. Stephen Oswald Maluka congratulated IYAFA 2022 National Steering Committee for choosing DUCE as the right place for conducting these celebrations. He further said, during the event, DUCE Community and the invited delegates had a great opportunity to exchange knowledge while opening new areas of environmental, social and economic researches.
