Effective 10th March 2020, UDSM Council  approved the appointment of four  Professors Emeritus, all from the School of Law. These are;

 Prof Gamaliel Mgongo Fimbo

LL.B, University of East Africa (1969), LLM, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London-1971, PhD, University of Dar es Salaam (1990)

 Prof Josaphat Kanywanyi

LL.B, University of Dar es Salaam (1966), LL.M, University of California, (1967), PhD in 1987 from the University of Dar es Salaam. 

 Prof Chris Maina Peter.

LL.B, University of Dar es Salaam (1980), LL.M, University of Dar es Salaam (1984), Dr. Jur.  University of Konstanz, Germany, (1989).
