On behalf of the University of Dar es Salaam, the University of Dar es Salaam library has planned a three-days training from 14th-16th June 2022 in Audition Room - UDSM Library, Dar es Salaam. The training aims to equip service providers with skills needed to facilitate the digitization of print documents and preserving them in electronic database systems so as to contribute to the ongoing transition from relying on print documents to e-government. Therefore, being one of the vital government bodies you are requested to facilitate your staff members’ attendance of this training. The training is going to enable your staff members to:

  1. Conceptualize digitization, archiving, and preservation;
  2. Understand the importance of digitization and archiving/preserving records;
  3. Plan a digitization project;
  4. Create an archival database using Open Source Software (OSS);
  5. Create metadata elements for  digitized records; and
  6. Develop a workflow for scanning, capturing, data entry and uploading scanned documents. 

The registration fee for each member is five hundred thousand shillings (500,000/=) to cover breakfast, lunch, refreshment, workshop venue, and training materials. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact us through:
