About the Journal

The East Africa Law Review is a journal of law and development published by the School of Law of University of Dar es Salaam. Being in publication since 1960’s, the EALR gives an opportunity to staff members, practitioners, and all other interested persons to publish their scholarly works. All works are peer-reviewed before the publication. The Journal comes out twice a year. The subscription fee is Tanzania shillings 15,000 within Tanzania or USD 35 outside Tanzania. Postage fees are not included.

Submission of Manuscripts

A manuscript for submission should comply with the following instructions;

• A-4 size, double-spaced.
• One-inch margin: Left, right, top and bottom.
• Format type and size: not more than 12-point Times New Roman.
• MS Word 97 or MS office 2000.
• Length: not more than 25 pages.
• Use footnotes and not end-notes
• Manuscripts must be in the English language

Editorial Process

• Submission of manuscripts to the Editor in Chief
• Editorial review of contents, style and grammar
• Notification of acceptance or rejection of the submitted text
• In case of acceptance, the author addresses all raised issues and resubmit to the Editor in Chief
• The Article is submitted to the external editor for review
• The editor report is communicated to the author
• The author addresses all raised issue
• Final resubmission for publication

Plagiarism and copyright

Manuscripts already published elsewhere, either in part or in full, are not acceptable. All referred sources must be appropriately acknowledged. The Editor in Chief reserves the right to subject any submitted manuscript to plagiarism check.
