Mr John Mnaku Bonaventura Mhozya

John Mnaku Bonaventura Mhozya is an Assistant Lecturer at the School of Law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (2007) and Master of Laws (2012) from the University of Dar es Salaam. Mr Mhozya has attended several other short courses including trainings on human rights at Malmo University, Sweden (2007) and Quebec, Canada (2013).

Mr Mhozya is an experienced legal practitioner. He was called into Tanzania Bar in 2010. He is a member of Tanganyika Law Society and East Africa Law Society; Bar Associations for Tanzania mainland and East African countries respectively. Currently, Mr Mhozya is also a senior legal consultant at Fortis Attorneys. Mr Mhozya’s areas of specialisation are Conveyancing, Land Law, Law of Business Associations, Human Rights, Intellectual Property and International Trade and Finance Law. Mr Mhozya has been involved in the following projects;

 

  • Consultancy by Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) [through Vertex Financial Services Limited] leading to the creation of TPSF Basket Fund
  • Consultancy by Consolidated Holding Corporation leading for the drafting of Post Privatization Monitoring and Evaluation Guidelines and Regulations
  • Consultancy Tanscott Associates (T) Limited on the legal effects on the Post Privatization Monitoring and Evaluation processes of the Consolidated Holding Corporation.
  • Consultancy by Hammers Incorporation Limited and Cashewnuts Industry Development Trust Fund on the legal challenges emanating from Public and Private Sectors Partnership in the growth of Cashewnuts industry in Tanzania
