Dkt. Magreth John Kibiki is a Lecturer in the Department of Languages and Literature, Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE). He holds a PhD (Kiswahili) from University of Dar es Salaam. Dr. Kibiki also works as Coordinator of Communication in the Communication and Marketing Unit, Secretary of Gender Desk and Quality Assurance Officer. She has specialized in Linguistics and has authored several articles in area of Pragmatics and Semantics. She has received various academic awards including; Certificate for Outstanding Academic Performance, Best Female Finalist from Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences in Academic year 2008/2009, Certificate for outstanding Academic Performance, Best 3^rd year Student from the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences in Academic Year 2008/2009 and Certificate of Award for Protecting, Developing and Defending Swahili Language Conducted by Kituo cha Kiswahili cha WASTA, Nairobi-Kenya. She has specialized in Linguistics and she has authored several articles in Semantics and Pragmatics. Dkt. Kibiki teaches Kiswahili courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her areas of teaching include Introduction to General Linguistics in Kiswahili, Second/Foreign Language Teaching and Learning, Kiswahili Morphology, Kiswahili Syntax, Kiswahili Semantics and Pragmatics.  Her research Interests includes Semantics, Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis and Conversation Analysis.
