Sabasaba exhibitions were held at Mwalimu Nyerere International Trade Fair grounds from 28th June 2024 to 13th July 2024. In this year, the exhibitions were supported by the theme ‘Tanzania, Your best destination for business and investment.’

DUCE was involved in showcasing research products and services at UDSM building.  DUCE exhibitors were Lameck Mpalanzi and Ms. Theresia Mathew, who marketed College undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as various short courses. The exhibitors in this pavilion guided prospective candidates on admission procedures. Similarly, demonstration schools and health services found in the College were also marketed in this pavilion.

DUCE pavilions contained different research and project works.  In the first place, Dr. Lucas Luchemba showcased his project, research titled ‘Turning domestic and agro waste into nutritious animal feeds’. His project aimed at utilizing organic waste, primarily crop residues and peel from cassava, potatoes and bananas which are traditionally discarded but seem to contain valuable energy and some minerals for feeding fish and poultry.

On the other hand, Mr. Robert showcased his research on violence against boys in Tanzania exploring its nature, types, barriers and intervention procedures. His research findings were based on the premise that while all children are vulnerable to violence, interventions often focus more on girls than boys.

The Sabasaba event was graced by distinguished guests including Tanzania’s President, Her Excellence Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan; Mozambican President, Hon. Dr. Filipe Nyusi; the President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi. The event was also attended by other dignitaries such as the UDSM Chancellor, Hon.
