University of Glasgow, UK. PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

Teaching:

  • Zoology particularly invertebrate and vertebrate (chordate) zoology, entomology and parasitology, developmental biology (embryology), vector biology, protozoology and helminthology, biostatistics and scientific methods and bioethics.

Research:

  • Disease ecology and epidemiological investigations of neglected tropical diseases particularly schistosomiasis, soil-transmitted helminthiases and intestinal protozoan infections.
  • Examination and identification of disease-causing organisms and assessment of the status and distribution of diseases.
  • Assessment of wildlife health (diseases) and other zoonotic infections.
  • Application of geospatial tools such as GIS and remote sensing (RS) in the assessment and management of disease risks and transmission.
  • Integration of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) into disease control and management.
