Mr Emmanuel Ilonga is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Languages & Literature. He holds a Bachelor degree in Arts (Education), and a Master’s degree (Linguistics). He teaches undergraduate courses including Communication Skills, English Language Practice, Introduction to English Structure & Function, and Sociolinguistics. His research interests revolve around Bantu linguistics, inter-semiotics, translanguaging, literary criticism, semantics, and second/foreign language learning. He has published several academic papers in Bantu linguistics, literary criticism, and foreign language learning motivation. Further, he has been working with the Quality Assurance Bureau (DUCE) since 2017. Mr Ilonga is currently pursuing his PhD (Linguistics) studies at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, majoring in translanguaging.
