Gender Research Centre (GRC)

DUCE Gender Research Centre (GRC) was established in 2022 with a mission to support action on enhancing gender equality and women's status. The objectives of the GRC are to develop research on gender approaches in education and cultivate new approaches to gender studies. Specifically, it looks at gender differences in educational achievement, attainment and experiences within education system. The aim is to understand how gender differences influences educational outcomes and how these differences impact the labour market, environment, family matters, politics and health outcomes, among others. The Centre strives to become a hub of research and training to support national feminisms and social movements challenging normative constructions of gender and social norms.

 

Issues of the Gender Research Centre:

  • Research on gender and women's issues;
  • Integration of gender theory into curricula;
  • Publications related to gender research;
  • Educational and scientific activities;
  • Conducting in conferences, seminars and symposiums at national and international level, and
  • Organizing lectures, seminars and other events that are open for students and the general public.
