The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) has reported significant gains in strengthening university-industry collaboration, enhancing graduate employability, expanding research partnerships, and promoting innovation, as stakeholders chart a sustainability roadmap for initiatives established under the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project.

The Minister of State in the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, Hon. Ridhiwani Jakaya Kikwete (MP), has urged University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) law students to embrace discipline, innovation and patriotism while developing the skills and global perspective needed to succeed in an increasingly interconnected legal profession.

University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) community, led by Chancellor and former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, has paid an emotional farewell to Mr. Jackson Isdory Mushi, a respected communications professional whose dedication, humility and unwavering commitment to service left an enduring mark on Tanzania's premier university.

Africa's future will depend not only on its economic growth or natural resources, but on its ability to reclaim the power to produce knowledge, define its own development priorities and think beyond intellectual frameworks inherited from colonialism and external influence.

The University of Dar es Salaam has honoured development partners, alumni, institutions and supporters for their contribution to inclusive education and student welfare, while officially launching the UDSM Marathon 2026 aimed at mobilising greater support for vulnerable students and inclusive learning initiatives.

An atmosphere of pride, scholarly distinction and national prestige filled Mlimani City Hall on May 25, 2026, as the University of Dar es Salaam conferred degrees upon 876 graduates, including 94 new PhD holders, during Cluster I of its 56th Graduation Ceremony.
