Samwel O. Mlabwa is a Tutorial Assistant in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) at the University of Dar es Salaam. He holds a First-Class Honours BSc in Industrial Engineering from UDSM and will pursue an MSc in Operational Research at the University of Edinburgh in UK (2025–2026).
Samwel has broad experience in academia, engineering, and sustainability. At UDSM, he has designed and delivered tutorials in Engineering Economy, Operations Research, and Simulation, achieving a significant improvement in student performance.
He previously served as a Supply Chain Engineer at Elsewedy Electric East Africa and as an Assistant Project Engineer at CYBERTZ Company Ltd, where he managed procurement, logistics, and contract tasks. Through the DREEM Fellowship, he supported Tanzanian NGOs in developing climate finance proposals and integrating renewable energy solutions into project designs.
His research interests include operations research, production scheduling, project management, and sustainable industrial systems.
