Rehema is a tutor at the University of Dar es Salaam, School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She has a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Advertising and a Master's degree in mass communication at the University of Dar es Salaam. She trains future leaders at various companies and organizations including FES Tanzania in communication skills. She shares her expertise and experience with new country teams on program management through Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa. Rehema has written two book chapters on social media/digital media and public relations in Tanzania (which she also presented at an international conference in Rwanda) and the Perception of and motivation for accessing Swahili online newspapers among students at the University of Dar es Salaam, both of these chapters have been published by Palgrave Macmillan and London, Routledge respectively. Rehema has participated in several internationally funded projects including Investigative Journalism funded by UNESCO, youth election sensitizations by UNDP, and documentary-making by TMF. Additionally, she has helped develop communication strategies, and digital and branding materials for several organizations. Tanzania’s Ministry of Health has also contracted her to develop a magazine with success stories of Adolescent Girls and Young Women in and out of schools related to HIV and AIDS. Rehema is a member of the Public Relations Society of Tanzania (PRST) and the East African Communication Association (EACA). She advises Unite the World with Africa’s scholars on our soft skills, leadership, communications curriculums, scholars’ educational journeys, and internship placements.
