Elvanus Mtashobya Kapira (born December 3, 1986) is a Tanzanian environmental engineer and scientist specializing in water and wastewater treatment, pollution control, and environmental impact assessment. He holds a Master of Science in Applied Environmental Science from Halmstad University, Sweden (2016–2017) and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Ardhi University, Tanzania (2009–2013).
Kapira has contributed to research on constructed wetlands, environmental toxicology, and risk assessment of pollutants, with several publications on the effects of plants and temperature on nitrogen removal in wastewater treatment. He has held academic and administrative positions, including Director at the University of Dar es Salaam’s Mineral Resources Institute.
His expertise spans environmental conservation, policy consultation, and sustainable resource management. He has also participated in international training and workshops on climate change adaptation, ecological conservation, and innovative environmental management practices.
