Biography

Ester Gaspar Kaole is a Tanzanian aquaculture scientist and environmental conservation advocate with a Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture and Aquatic Science from the University of Dodoma. She currently serves as a Laboratory Scientist in Aquaculture at the School of Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Technology, University of Dar es Salaam, where she supports academic teaching, laboratory research, and consultancy projects.

Ester has practical experience in fish farming, feed formulation, artificial fish breeding, fish processing, and aquatic biodiversity conservation. She is actively involved in community outreach and ocean conservation initiatives as a volunteer with the Sustainable Oceans Alliance, focusing on environmental education, plastic pollution reduction, and coastal ecosystem protection.

Ester has participated in several professional trainings, including genetic tools for conservation conducted by WIOMSA, fish farming capacity building programs conducted by the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, and ocean conservation trainings focused on plastic pollution. Her research experience includes developing plant-based phytochemical extracts for sex reversal of Nile tilapia and contributing to plastic pollution assessment studies along Mbudya Island.
