Fredrick Ezekiel Sintau

Biography

Fredrick Ezekiel Sintau is a Games Tutor at the University of Dar es Salaam and a sports education scholar specializing in Physical Education and Sports Sciences. He holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sports Sciences from the University of Dar es Salaam. His academic and professional interests focus on inclusive sport, sports science, disability sport, and the role of physical activity in education, health promotion, and social development.

He has held several leadership and governance roles in sport, including Soccer Coordinator for the Tanzania Universities Sports Association (TUSA), Technical Chairperson for SHIMMUTA (the Federation of Sports for Parastatal Corporations and Private Companies of Tanzania Mainland), and General Secretary for DSSP (Dar es Salaam Staff Sports Promotion), which coordinates the Dar es Salaam Staff Sports League. He is currently serving as a General Secretary of the Tanzania Amputee Football Federation, overseeing national development activities for amputee football.

Fredrick participated in the 2024 Global Sports Mentoring Program (GSMP) at the University of Tennessee Center for Sport, Peace and Society, USA, which focused on engaging persons with disabilities through sport and promoting social transformation through sport-based initiatives. He also completed an internship in Sports Sciences at the University of Agder, Norway, and gaining practical and research-based experience in applied sport science. He has also served as a Research Assistant in the endline evaluation of the Watoto Wetu, Tunu Yetu program implemented by Children in Crossfire, which focused on improving the provision and quality of pre-primary education in Tanzania.
