Biography

 

Dr Ellinami Minja is a Senior Lecturer in Finance and Economics in the Department of Finance, University of Dar es Salaam Business School. He is a seasoned academician, researcher, consultant and manager with more than 30 years of post-graduation experience. His key strengths and competencies include teaching, training research and consulting in the areas of Finance, Economics, Accounting and Quantitative Methods; Research and Consultancy; Leadership and Management as well as Strategic Planning. He also has high level of competence in general computer packages such as MS 365 components as well as Econometric/ Modelling packages such as SAS, STATA and SPSS.

Dr. Minja holds a Ph.D. in Economics (with specializations in Monetary Economics, International Economics and Financial Economics) from Oklahoma State University – USA; a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Nairobi, Kenya and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Director of the Institute of Directors (Tanzania). Dr. Minja has also attended a number of short-courses and workshops relevant to his filed and administration in general such as Microeconomics of Competitiveness, Teaching the Practice of Management, public procurement, risk management and governance as well as short-term training in consultancy, research and teaching methodology.

Dr. Minja has served in various management and governance positions including as Managing Director, University of Dar es Salaam Computing Centre (UCC), a business oriented company owned by the University of Dar es Salaam (5 years), Chairman of Dar es .Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) Board of Directors (6 years), Vice Chairperson Tanzania Ports Authority Board of Directors (4 years), at least five Government Negotiation Teams (GNTs)(in 2017 to 2022), Member, University of Dar es Salaam Tender Board (6 years), Member, Bank of Tanzania Training Institute Advisory Council (8 years) and Chairman, NBAA Editorial Committee (3 years). Other include membership to University of Dar es salaam Computing Center Board (5 years), Investment and Resources Mobilization Committee of the University of Dar es Salaam (5 years) and Audit Committee, Fair Competition Commission (3 years).
