Biography

Josephat Naale Amsi is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Officer at the University of Dar es Salaam, where he plays a pivotal role in supporting, maintaining, and advancing the university’s digital infrastructure. With a strong background in computer science and information systems, he brings extensive expertise in system administration, software development, and IT project management.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in data science from the University of Dar es Salaam's College of Information and Communication Technology. He has acquired certifications in network security, system analysis, and enterprise systems management. His recent academic upgrade includes a master’s in data science, equipping him with advanced analytical skills to support data-driven decision-making and institutional research.

As part of the Directorate of ICT, Mr. Naale has contributed to numerous strategic projects, including the development and deployment of enterprise applications such as Research Information Management Systems (RIMS), Consultancy and Research Registration System (Conris). He is particularly experienced in Laravel, PHP, MySQL, Python, Django, and other web technologies, and has supported automation of administrative processes to enhance operational efficiency.

His responsibilities include system design, application development, ICT user support, cybersecurity monitoring, and ensuring the integration of emerging technologies to meet the institution’s evolving needs. In addition to his technical duties, he works closely with various departments to provide ICT consultancy, capacity building, and digital innovation support.

Driven by a passion for technology and service excellence, Mr. Naale continues to pursue professional development while championing digital transformation initiatives that align with the university’s vision of academic and research excellence.
