Research at The Department of Structural and Construction Engineering (SCE) is aimed at addressing engineering technology and management issues that are confronting our society.

The Department of Structural and Construction Engineering (SCE) provides consultancy services to the industry mostly by conducting quality control tests on construction materials, expert advice in construction management and public procurement. Further, a considerable number of consultancies have involved structural design and supervision of new construction works.

Introduction

The Department of Structural and Construction Engineering (SCE) was established in July 2009 after merging the former Department of Structural Engineering and the Department of Construction Technology and Management under the then Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE) in the College of Engineering and Technology (CoET), the first campus college of the University of Dar es Salaam.
