MINISTRY OF SECURITY AND DEFENCE

INTRODUCTION

Ministry of Defence and Security is among the component which forms the DARUSO Mlimani CABINET of University of Dar es Salaam as stipulated in DARUSO Mlimani constitution of 2012, Article 15 (2) (iv). The general functions of the DARUSO CABINET are stipulated in the same Article of DARUSO constitution of 2012, i.e Article 15(4).

The Ministry of Defence and Security of DARUSO 2023/2024 is under the Minister Hon. JACKSON MATEMANI  and his Deputy Minister Hon. JOSEPH MARWA

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MINISTRY

The responsibilities of the Minister of Security and Defence:

  • Responsible for the USRC in respect of all matters pertaining to Security and Defence of DARUSO Mlimani members.
  • Responsible for reminding students to follow the University regulations and by-laws.
  • Responsible for upholding law and order in support of the Auxiliary police at the University of Dar es Salaam.
  • Responsible for providing seminars to students on how they can keep themselves safe.
  • Responsible for creating Harmony between students and the Auxiliary Police around the University of Dar es Salaam.

 

Generally, the Ministry of Defence and Security is to make sure all students and staff of the University of Dar es Salaam and the colleges are secured in cooperation with the Auxiliary Police University of Dar es Salaam.
