The Institute of Marine Sciences is one of the University of Dar es salaam campuses located in Zanzibar which has the mandate to conduct research and offer postgraduate and undergraduate training and consultancy services in all aspects of Marine Sciences. Also, the Institute is the National Oceanographic Data Centre where you will find information on ocean data and information management in Tanzania.

1. Department of Geosciences, Oceanography, and Informatics (GOI).
2. Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Management (MCRM).
3. Department of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
