My name is Jackson Rwiza Jackson I'm employed as a laboratory technician (Telecommunications) assistant to academician.
As Telecom technician I'm a technical specialist responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and networks. These systems include telephone lines, internet connections, fiber-optic cables, wireless communication systems, and other data transmission infrastructure.
Telecommunications technicians play an important role in ensuring reliable communication for homes, businesses, and government institutions. Their work supports services such as voice calls, internet access, video conferencing, and digital broadcasting.
In their daily work, technicians inspect communication lines, troubleshoot network problems, and configure equipment such as routers, switches, antennas, and modems. They often work with fiber optics, copper cables, satellite systems, and mobile communication towers to ensure signals are transmitted clearly and efficiently.
A telecommunications technician typically has training in electronics, information technology, or telecommunications engineering. Many technicians receive education through technical colleges, vocational programs, or on-the-job training.
Successful telecommunications technicians possess strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and attention to detail. They must also follow safety procedures when working with electrical equipment or at heights such as communication towers.
As communication technology continues to evolve with advancements like 5G networks, fiber-optic broadband, and satellite communication, telecommunications technicians remain essential in building and maintaining modern digital infrastructure.

BIOMETRIC ATTENDANCE SYSTEM.
The Biometric Attendance System was installed on the campus to improve attendance management and enhance security. Traditional attendance methods such as manual registers were time-consuming and prone to errors or manipulation. The biometric system uses unique biological characteristics, such as fingerprints, to identify individuals and record their attendance automatically.
The Biometric attendance system was implemented at my unit (School of Journalism and Mass Communication). With permission from Dean, Administrative Officer and My Technical in charge.
HOME AUTOMATION SYSTEM USING BLUETOOTH MODULE.
Home automation is a technology that allows users to control electrical appliances automatically or remotely. With the development of wireless communication technologies, home automation systems have become more efficient and convenient.
On this project I focused on designing a home automation system using a Bluetooth module that enables users to control home appliances such as lights, fans, and other devices through a smartphone. The system uses Bluetooth communication to send commands from the mobile device to a microcontroller that controls the appliances.
This automation system project was conducted at Arusha Technical College (ATC) as part of practical trainings.
ALCOHOL DETECTION WITH CAR IGNITION SYSTEM.
This project presents an Alcohol Detection System with Car Ignition Control, which detects alcohol from the driver's breath using a sensor. If alcohol is detected above a certain limit, the system prevents the car engine from starting.
The Alcohol Detection System with Car Ignition Control is an effective safety solution that I designed to reduce accidents caused by drunk driving. By detecting alcohol levels in the driver's breath and controlling the ignition system, the project helps improve road safety.
This project was conducted at St. Joseph University of Tanzania where i used to volunteer as electronics technician.
