Biography
My name is Dr. Simon Rwekiza Melchioly (PhD in Geology – Hydrogeology) and my research and consultancy interests are on groundwater hydrology, GIS and Remote Sensing, hydrogeology, geophysical explorations using vertical electrical sounding (VES), seismic refraction, electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), and groundwater hydraulic modelling. I'm currently working as a lecturer, researcher and consultant at University of Dar es Salaam, School of Mines and Geosciences where I am teaching hydrogeology and geophysics courses but also conduct consultancies in groundwater exploration, soil resistivity tests and seismic hazard assessment using geophysical techniques.
