Attended the course facilitated by the Institute of Directors in Tanzania (IoDT), for a Certificate in Directorship. Performed very well, and was provided a Certificate of Excellence for an Outstanding Performance. The course took place in Mwanza.
Attended and successfully completed a Board Leadership Masterclass that was conducted at Gran Melia Hotel in Arusha.
Attended a course on Corporate Governance for Board Members. The course was facilitated by Uongozi Institute, in Arusha.
Attended a course on Corporate Governance and Leadership. The course was conducted by the Bank of Tanzania Academy at BOT Academy, Mwanza.
I have over 20 years of experience in teaching (at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels), researching and public service (consulting) in a wide range of business management matters, specializing in the areas of Marketing management, Entrepreneurship and small businesses development, Customer care, Sales management and Change management. Below are some of the public service works I have done in the past few years:
2022-2024 – Facilitated various Entrepreneurship training programs for University graduates in the regions of Dar es Salaam, Mbeya, Arusha, Morogoro, Kigoma, and Tabora.
May 2021 – Facilitated the process of Developing training materials for Small and Medium Sized Entrepreneurs in the Tanzanian private sector. An activity which was coordinated by Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF), Dar es Salaam
March 2019 - Facilitated a sales convention for Tigo regional and zonal managers, which was organised by the company’s Headquarter in Dar es Salaam.
August 2018 – Facilitated an entrepreneurship training for councillors of Temeke Municipal Council, in Dar es Salaam. The training involved identification of business ideas upon which business plans could be developed.
May 2013 Facilitated an entrepreneurship training program for graduates who wanted to go into self employment. The training was organised by the National Economic Empowerment Commission (NEEC) and facilitated by the University of Dar es Salaam Entrepreneurship Centre (UDEC)
August, 2012 – Facilitated a Customer Care and Training of Trainers program for CRDB Bank Branch managers and other Bank Officials, a training that took five days at CRDB and involved various modules, including effective and efficient leadership. The training was organized by CRDB Bank and facilitated by the University of Dar es Salaam Entrepreneurship Centre (UDEC).
December, 2011 - Facilitated a two weeks training on Customer care and Soft Management Skills for Magistrates of Primary courts and Resident Magistrate courts from both Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. The training had various modules including customer care, time management, leadership skills, etc. The training was organized by the Ministry of Finance.
May, 2011: Team Leader for an Investment Climate Assessment in Tanzania, an assignment that was commission by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) in collaboration with the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC).
August, 2010 - Facilitated a three-days training workshop on Adult Training Skills to Arusha based Consultants and CEOs of institutions which support activities of Small and Medium size Enterprises (SMEs). The workshop was organized by Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA -Arusha Office) and the University of Dar es Salaam Entrepreneurship Centre (UDEC).
March, 2010 – Facilitated a three-days Training on Customer care and Soft Management Skills for Senior Staff (Heads of Sub-treasury) of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs. The training focused on acquisition and application of soft management skills by the senior staff, with the view to enhancing their performance at work places.
Nov. 2009 - April, 2010 – Led a team that conducted and presented a market survey report for a joint project of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and MICROSOFT. The project aims at importation of refurbished quality branded computers into Tanzania so that Small and Medium size Enterprises (SME) operators can buy them at lower prices. The overall objective is enabling Tanzanian SMEs to benefit from Information Communications Technology (ICT) usage.
Nov. - December, 2008 Led a team that studied the University of Dar es Salaam’s income generating activities with the view to recommending the ways the University could enhance its earnings.
August, 2008 - Facilitated Customer Care training programs to various groups of Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority (TFDA).
May, 2008 – Facilitated a three-days workshop on change management for the Presidential Trust Fund (PTF) Senior Staff. The overall objective of the workshop was to enable participants to appreciate and apply different change management techniques with the view to enabling them to cope with ongoing changes in the business environment.
May, 2008 – Facilitated a two-days training on formulation of Small and Medium size enterprises (SMEs) for staff of the Tanzania Food and Drug Authority (TFDA). The training aimed at enabling participants to grasp the different opportunities for which they can establish SMEs in order to enhance their economic well-being.
April, 2008 – Facilitated a training on Enhancement of Staff Performance, Stakeholder relations and Customer care for Senior staff of the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties.
April, 2008 Conducted a market research and produced a report on business opportunities in Tanzania for South African SMEs. The assignment was provided by the South African International Business Linkages.
March, 2008 – Facilitated a workshop on change management for Tanzania Food and Drug Authority (TFDA) Senior Staff. The workshop aimed at enabling participants to appreciate the importance of change management and the ways leaders can apply different techniques at their workplaces in order to cope with the dynamics in the business environment.
August –Sept., 2007 Customised an SMME (Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises) Toolkit for Tanzania. The assignment was commissioned by the Association of SADC Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ASCCIA) through the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), Dar es Salaam.
December, 2007 - Trained TFDA staff on customer care issues. The overall objective was to enable them to appreciate the importance of customer care in their service delivery processes and the effects poor customer care can have on an institution and its customers.
July, 2007 - Conducted an on-site impact assessment and business development counseling to 30 small business operators in the village of Fumba, Nyamanzi, and Bweleo in Zanzibar. This was sponsored by USAID through the Western Indian Ocean Marine Sciences Association (WIOMSA) based in Zanzibar.
March, 2007 – Facilitated a series of Customer Care training programs to staff of Muhimbili National Hospital. Various of groups of Doctors, nurses and other administrative and support staff.
February, 2007 – Facilitated a series of Customer Care training programs to various groups of administrative staff of the University of Dar es Salaam.
