Biography

Dr. Agapiti H. Chuwa is a Lecturer in Medical Physiology at the University of Dar es Salaam-Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences. A medical doctor and specialist, he received his M.D. from the Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy, Russia, and a Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Oncology from the University of Central Nicaragua. He completed his Ph.D. in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Tokyo, Japan in 2018 through a merit scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Education of Japan (MEXT). Dr. Chuwa is also pursuing an MSc in Physiology at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda.

 

Dr. Chuwa has worked as a medical doctor in Tanzania at Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital, Kilema Designated District Hospital and Usangi District Hospital. He was instrumental in establishing the Good Samaritan Cancer Hospital in Ifakara, Morogoro, and served as its first Director of Medical Services until August, 2020. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed international journals and continues to contribute to medical research and education.
