Biography

Malima Magosho is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam and a dedicated researcher in science education, curriculum development, and educational technology. His current research focuses on the innovative application of immersive virtual reality to foster collaborative learning in chemistry, particularly within Tanzanian secondary schools and AI-Enhanced Pedagogies. 

Born in Hombolo, Dodoma, on January 31, 1989, Mr. Magosho's academic journey began at Kalembo Primary School and continued through Hijra Seminary and Dodoma Secondary School. He earned his Bachelor of Education in Science (Chemistry) in 2014, followed by a Master of Education in Science Education in 2022, both from the University of Dar es Salaam. 

Mr. Magosho’s professional career is rooted in a decade of teaching experience. Before joining the University of Dar es Salaam as an Assistant Lecturer in 2023, he dedicated eight years to secondary education. At Makongoro High School (2015-2023), he taught Chemistry at both ordinary and advanced levels, also serving as Second Master and coordinating science clubs. His early career included teaching roles at various institutions, including St. Peter Claver Secondary School, Kleruu Teachers’ College, and several part-time positions, building a strong foundation in pedagogical practice.

As a researcher, Mr. Magosho has demonstrated expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. He has been involved in significant fieldwork, including a large-scale household survey collecting data from over 1,600 households on education services in Tanzania. His scholarly output is growing, with several articles co-authored and currently under review in reputable international journals such as Studies in the Education of Adults, Routledge and many more. His work explores a range of topics, including digital teaching, vocational training, adult education, and education policy within the Tanzanian and African contexts. He is also a member of relevant professional societies.

With a strong command of both English and Swahili, advanced computer literacy, and a reputation for being hardworking and innovative, Malima Magosho is an emerging voice in science education. His work sits at the intersection of traditional pedagogy and cutting-edge technology, aiming to shape the future of learning in Tanzania.
