Biography

Alex Lubida is a geospatial and surveying professional based in Tanzania, with strong expertise in spatial data collection analysis and management, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), GNSS and Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI). He has extensive experience working with surveying technologies, coordinate reference systems, and geospatial analysis for applications in land administration, environmental studies, infrastructure development, and climate-related research.
He has been involved in projects and academic work focusing on the application of spatial technologies in drought assessment, environmental management, and coastal and port monitoring and also on spatial data accuracy, geospatial standards, and the integration of GIS and GNSS for decision-making and sustainable development.
With a strong technical background and a research-oriented mindset, Alex Lubida is committed to advancing the use of geospatial technologies to support planning, resource management, and scientific research in Tanzania and the wider region.
