CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR STUDENT MOBILITY (POSTGRADUATE MA & PhD) TO EÖTVÖS LORÁND UNIVERSITY (ELTE), HUNGARY

 

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Dar es Salaam is pleased to invite the University’s postgraduate students to apply for student mobility under the Erasmus Programme, in collaboration with Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), for the Autumn Semester 2026.


1. Mobility Details

Mobility window: Early September 2026 – Mid-February 2027

Fields: Development-related areas, including (but not limited to) Development Studies, Development Management, Gender Studies, and closely related interdisciplinary topics.

 

2. Purpose of Mobility

The mobility supports UDSM postgraduate students to:

  • Conduct research-related activities at ELTE (e.g., access literature, attend seminars, methods training, research discussions, dissertation/thesis writing).
  • Strengthen academic networks and supervision linkages.
  • Improve thesis/dissertation quality and timely completion.

4. Eligibility (all applicants)

Applicants must:

  • Be registered MA or PhD students at UDSM with substantiated academic progress.
  • Demonstrate a strong research alignment in the field of Development Studies.
  • Have sufficient English language proficiency.
  • Be available during the mobility window and comply with travel/visa/insurance requirements.

 

5. Mobility Entitlements

  • Stipend

 

6. How to apply & required documents (ONE PDF)

Deadline: 31st March 2026 at 1600 hours

Applicants should submit ONE PDF (named using your formal university name + registration number) by email to: ids@udsm.ac.tz 

 

Email subject: “ELTE Student Mobility 2026/27 – [MA/PhD] – Your Name”

The single PDF must contain:

  1. Motivation letter (max 1 page): mobility goals, relevance to thesis/dissertation, expected outputs
  2. Research proposal summary (2–3 pages) + proof of proposal defense (department/unit level)
  3. Curriculum Vitae (max 2–3 pages)
  4. Work plan for ELTE stay (1–2 pages): timeline, activities, outputs
  5. Supervisor endorsement letter confirming capability/readiness and relevance.
  6. Official academic transcripts for MA applicants and previous MA transcripts for PhD applicants
