Dr. Christopher Mbotwa is an academic and researcher with expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, and public health. Currently affiliated with the University of Dar es Salaam at the Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences. He holds PhD in Epidemiology from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Science (MUHAS), with a sandwich training at University of Oslo (UiO), Norway. He also holds master’s degree in Statistics and a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, both from the University of Dar es Salaam. Dr. Mbotwa has been involved in different research projects, including studies on mHealth and HIV. Dr. Mbotwa is a recipient of several awards, including a summer fellowship from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health as part of the HIV Implementation Science Training program and competitive research grants from the University of Dar es Salaam. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, with a focus on HIV, mHealth interventions, maternal health, and other public health topics.
