Call for Applications: One-Semester Student Exchange Opportunities at UDSM Partner Universities
One-semester international student exchange opportunities for UDSM students under existing partnership agreements with selected universities.
The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), through the Directorate of Internationalization, Convocation and Advancement (DICA), is pleased to invite students to apply for one-semester student exchange opportunities at selected UDSM partner universities across Europe, Asia and South America.
These exchange opportunities are offered under existing partnership agreements between UDSM and the respective host universities and provide selected students with an opportunity to undertake part of their studies in an international academic environment, experience different cultures and education systems, develop global networks, and enhance their academic and personal development.

Applicants should carefully note that these are NOT fully funded scholarships.
The benefit provided under these partnerships is a TUITION FEE WAIVER ONLY.Under the partnership arrangements, successful UDSM students will receive a TUITION FEE WAIVER ONLY at the host university for the approved exchange semester.
The tuition fee waiver means that the selected student will not be required to pay tuition fees to the host university for the approved exchange period.
However, all other costs associated with participation in the exchange program must be covered by the student.
Students should therefore be prepared to independently meet expenses including, but not limited to:
- International and local travel/airfare;
- Visa and residence permit costs, where applicable;
- Accommodation;
- Meals and daily living expenses;
- Medical and travel insurance;
- Local transportation;
- Books and study materials;
- Personal expenses; and
- Any other costs that are not specifically covered under the tuition fee waiver.
Applicants are strongly advised to consider their financial ability to meet these costs before submitting an application.

Selection of Host University
Each applicant must carefully review the available destinations and select only ONE preferred host university during the application process.
Applicants should consider the academic programs offered by the selected university, compatibility with their current program of study at UDSM, language of instruction, expected living costs, visa requirements, and their ability to finance the non-tuition expenses associated with the exchange program.
Academic Recognition
The exchange program is intended to allow selected students to undertake academic studies at a partner university for one semester under the relevant UDSM partnership arrangement.
Students should therefore select a destination whose courses and academic offerings are relevant to their program of study and should follow the required academic approval procedures before undertaking the exchange semester.
