Mohamedi Abdallah Ngunguti was born in 1978. He was employed by UDSM as a Tutorial Assistant in October 2010 and was promoted to the position of Assistant Lecturer in November 2011 after completion of his MA (Linguistics) degree in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics, University of Dar es Salaam. He was promoted to the position of lecturer in November 2021, having completed his PhD (Linguistics) from Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics, University of Dar es Salaam.

Mohamedi received his primary education at Mkarango primary school and later on Mwengei primary school (both in Kilwa district, Lindi region) where he completed standard 7 in 1993. In 1994 he joined secondary education (forms 1-4) at Kipatimu secondary school in Kilwa district, Lindi region and completed form 4 in 1997.

In 1998 Mohamedi joined form 5 at Ndanda secondary school in Masasi district, Mtwara region and completed form 6 in 2000. In 2001, he joined Mtwara Teachers’ College for Diploma in Education, (Kiswahili & English being his teaching subjects), and completed in May 2003, before re-joining Mtwara TTC in October the same year, this time employed as a Tutor for Kiswahili and English language Teaching Methods.

In August 2006, Mohamedi joined the University of Dar es Salaam for his BA with Education degree (Kiswahili and Linguistics) and completed in August 2009. In the same year, he joined M.A (Linguistics) degree programme under the sponsorship of Languages of Tanzania Project (LOT), under the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics and completed in 2011.

He registered for PhD in Linguistics in October 2006 and completed in November 2021 at the University of Dar es Salaam.
