Dr. Ernesta Mosha is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Literature, Comunication and Publishing, Institute of Kiswahili Studies, at the University of Dar es Salaam. She holds PhD in Literature and Gender from the University of Waikato in New Zealand. She also holds M.A Linguistics (Kiswahili and English) and B.A  (Education, Kiswahili and English) both from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Her area of specialization include Literature and gender, Kiswahili Novel and translation. In her PhD she looked on gender based violence as constructed in Kiswahili fiction. Her research interest is on women empowerment. Mosha has a wider experience in teaching Kiswahili literature and gender. Mosha is also an experienced instructor for Kiswahili as a foreign language in which, apart from teaching in Tanzania, she has also taught the language in South Korea. Furthermore, she has also lectured in various local and international academic conferences, seminars, and workshops in countries like Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Italy, Germany, South Korea and China.
