Currently, the CSW comprises of four subsections; General Mechanics: Deals with fabrication and repair of spare parts as well as manufacturing new teaching and research equipment such as compound pendulums, animal cages, inertia tables etc. In accomplishing these activities, bending, milling, cutting and drilling of metallic materials are performed. Fine Mechanics: Deals with repair and fabrication of high precision parts such as small gears in printing or photocopying machines. It is also involved in servicing, maintenance, calibration and repairing of microscopes, balances and other research and teaching equipment, which require fine technical skills. Electronics Section: Deals withdesigning, servicing and repairing laboratory electronic equipment such as power supplies, voltage and current meters, oscilloscopes etc. The section also performs service and repair of photocopiers, typewriters and printers. Glass Blowing Section: This section deals with fabrication and repair of laboratory glassware such as test tubes, conical flasks, burettes etc.
