Zanzibar’s President Hussein Ali Mwinyi on Monday, March 01, 2021 appointed Mr Othman Masoud Othman to be the new First Vice President in the Isles. Mr Othman is replacing Maalim Seif Sharrif Hamad who died on February 17, 2021.

Mr. Othman joined the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) from (1986-1989)  for a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B). At UDSM Othman was a brilliant student in the Faculty of Law with good ability in the classroom and building arguments in debates. He graduated from the now University of Dar es Salaam School of Law (UDSoL) with a Cum Laude /Honors.
