On September 27, President Samia Suluhu Hassan swore in our Alumnus Togolani Mavura as Tanzania’s ambassador to South Korea. Prior to his latest appointment, Mr. Mavura was the assistant secretary to Former President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.


Mr.Mavura graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam in 2005 with BA. Political Science and Public Administration majoring in International Relations.
Mr.Mavura started his career as a Foreign Service Officer within the Directorate of Multilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in 2006-2009. He was then elevated to Private Secretary to the Minister from 2009-2014.


Due to his attained experience in diplomacy and effective communication skills, Mr.Mavura became a Personal Assistant to President Kikwete (Speechwriter) from 2014 to 2015. Extending his services to different platforms Togolani Mavura is the founding board member of Ali Kimara Rare Diseases Foundation which is an advocacy-based organization dedicated to pioneer inclusion for children living with rare diseases in health and education policies in Tanzania.
He is also a Board member of Save the Children UK and a Board member of Agri Thamani Foundation which is a policy and advocacy-based organization aiming at mobilizing political will for improving nutrition in Tanzania.
