The University of Dar es Salaam, through the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CoNAS), has established a programme to support teaching of Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry in selected secondary schools in Tanzania. This programme, which is known as Mathematics and Science Teaching Support Programme (MSTSP), was established after realizing that some schools in the country face a critical shortage of teachers in these subjects. The implementation of this programme began in 2021 in four selected secondary schools in Dar es Salaam region, and later on more schools are expected to be included. The four schools which are currently supported by the programme are Manzese secondary school, Mugabe secondary school, Salma Kikwete secondary school and Yusuf Makamba secondary school.
Therefore, CoNAS is inviting qualified University of Dar es Salaam BSc. (Education) graduates to apply as volunteer teachers for Mathematics and Science subjects at/in the above named secondary schools.
Duration of the Teaching Support
The duration of teaching is six months, effective from May 2022.
