The University of Dar es Salaam and the Rural Water Supply Agency (RUWASA) have vowed to strengthen collaboration between them in areas of mutual benefits.
This commitment was announced at the end of the visit of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Prof. Nelson Boniface at the RUWASA headquarters in Dodoma recently.
Making reference to an existing Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two institutions for this purpose, Prof Boniface told Director General of RUWASA Eng. Clement Kivegalo: “The intention to have these conversations is grounded on our both institutions’ key roles and functions based on the commitment to bring about community development through social service”.
Optimism for the desired project
Both parties explored various options and discussed the necessary procedures to be adopted in planning and implementing the desired project.
Prof. Boniface said: “We are very optimistic that this initiative will be realised in due course and benefit both of us, that is UDSM and RUWASA”.
Meanwhile, the Director General of RUWASA, Eng. Clement Kivegalo, reiterated his organisation’s readiness to work together with UDSM given the latter’s instrumental roles in academic, research and public service.
His remarks offered reassurance: “We are not only committed to collaborating with UDSM in various related endeavors, but also we pledge our support in different aspects that we can be capable of in this regard”.
