Prof. Siasa Mzenzi

Prof. Siasa Mzenzi is the Director of Planning, Development and Investment (DPDI). He is an Associate Professor in Accounting at the Department of Accounting, University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) of the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). He holds a PhD in Accounting from University of Southampton, United Kingdom. Also, he holds Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) in accounting both from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T) registered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA). As a Director of Planning, Development and Investment (DPDI), Prof. Siasa is responsible for all short-term, medium term and long-term planning, development and investment initiatives at the University. In the past, Prof. Siasa has worked with Ernst & Young (Tanzania) as an Auditor and KPMG (Tanzania) as an audit trainee. He is also a member of the British Accounting and Finance Association-Special Interest Group (BAFA-SIG) for accounting in less developed and emerging economies as well as the African Accounting and Finance Association (AAFA).

Prof. Siasa has more than fifteen (15) years’ experience in teaching and consulting in different areas including corporate governance, financial reporting, management accounting, cost accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate social responsibility, risk management, strategic planning, and organization structure and functions. He is also a reviewer of the various academic journals including outstanding one published by Emerald such as Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (JAEE) and Managerial Auditing Journal (MAJ)-Assurance, Management Performance and Governance.
