Winnie Costancia Muangi is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Dar es Salaam. She teaches Quantitative Methods, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Agriculture Economics and Environmental Economics. Winnie is one of the founding members of the Centre for Behavioral Studies (CBS) at the University which applies behavioral insights to address practical challenges and provides evidence-based solutions. Currently, Winnie is taking a PhD in Economics program from the University of Reading, UK.

Winnie has worked closely with the Ministry of Health and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to help design the National Sanitation Campaign. She has also worked with idaes42, a Behavioural Science Lab, as consulting project manager to help design and implement behavioral nudges into the Tanzania’s PSSN (Productive Social Safety Net) program to help cash transfer beneficiaries use their monies optimally.
