FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Enrollment/Registration is the official recognition of a student’s relationship with the university. Registration is the basic authorization for a student’s access to campus resources including campus labs, assistantships, fellowships, travel grants, etc. each semester.

Postgraduate funding is a source of financial support for enrolled postgraduate students. To receive funding, including assistantships, fellowships, stipends, and travel grants, a student must be registered for the semester in which they will receive the funds.

Postgraduate students are funded to pursue their degrees through a combination of competitive internal and external fellowships and research and teaching assistantships. Funding packages may include tuition, health insurance/health fee, and a stipend.

  • Scholarships, Fellowships & Grants
The University of Dar es Salaam has various awards, scholarships and awards to assist postgraduate students in funding their graduate studies. The Directorate of Postgraduate Studies (DPGS) administers scholarships announcements in collaboration with the offering unit.

Scholarships and awards are funded by a variety of sources, including the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the generosity of our many donors.

Each postgraduate student desirous of being engaged in teaching or provision of technical assistance shall be required to apply for the post through his/her respective Head of Department clearly stating the course he/she wants to be engaged in.

The teaching or technical assistance positions and opportunities advertised shall indicate clearly courses or modules, hours involved in terms of preparation, delivery, assessment and training that will be required for the teaching role or provisions of technical assistance. To ensure that teaching standards are maintained, the selection process carried out at the Units shall include an assessment against qualifications to ensure that students have the necessary qualifications, skills and experience for the teaching or technical assistance activities allocated. Units shall draw up a matrix of teaching or technical assistants’ activities and allocate these to students who have been selected.
