Dr. Tobias Aloisi Swai is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Finance, University of Dar es Salaam, Business School teaching Banking and Corporate Finance courses since October 2002. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Finance) researching on the banking sector, MBA in Finance, and Bachelor of Commerce in Finance (Honours) from the University of Dar es Salaam. He also holds Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands. He has audited various courses related to economics, banking and finance and research methodology from the Department of Economics at UDSM, Columbia Business School in New York and Gonzaga University in Spokane, USA. Dr. Swai has taught various courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the University of Dar es Salaam, Business School.  Dr. Swai has 20 years in teaching, research and consultancy. He has consulted local and international institutions.

Major consultancies are geared to public financial management, private sector development, strategy analysis and development, training, financial planning, evaluation, financial analysis, data analysis, feasibilities studies and business plans.  Dr. Swai is a seasoned entrepreneur having run and established various small businesses. He likes nature farming, gardening, jogging, reading Bible and listening to Gospel music.
