This is an introductory course that surveys the panorama of mass communication, including a historical overview, definitions, communication and mass communication processes, as well as traditional and new media, and their processes
CO 102: MEDIATED COMMUNICATION IN AFRICA
The course aims at enabling students to explore and understand the effectiveness and problems of Mass Communication particularly in Africa.
CO 103: TECHNICAL BASIS OF COMMUNICATION
The course aims at providing B.A Journalism, Mass Communication and Public Relations and Advertising students with some basic understanding of the technicalities involved in Mass Communication process. This includes how the information/messages are coded, transmitted and received.
