M.A. Kiswahili International Scholarships are competitive and merit-based distinctive to Non-Tanzanian eligible students who wish to study for Masters of Arts in Kiswahili by Coursework and Dissertation at the University of Dar es Salaam.

Applications are invited from qualified candidates to undertake M.A. Kiswahili at the Institute of Kiswahili Studies of the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The University of Dar es Salaam offers the scholarship, and it covers tuition fees, research costs, and subsistence allowance (stipend) for the programme. The duration of the study is 18 months. 

Eligibility: 

1. Applicants should be non-Tanzanians.
2. Must be members of the African Union with priority to areas of the continent where Kiswahili is not widely used. 
3. Applicants should have a Bachelor Degree in African Languages from a recognized University.
4. Applicants should have a GPA of 3.5 or above on a five-grade scale in their first degree.
5. Applicants should have studied Kiswahili language at least in advanced level (High School).
6. Applicants should not be more than 35 years old as of November 2021.
7. Applicants must have admission to study M.A. Kiswahili (By Coursework and Dissertation) at the University of Dar es Salaam.
