IPMO

The Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO) was established to ensure favorable environment that supports and encourages inventions, innovation and development of research results in the course of research taking place within various academic programs at the University of Dar es salaam.

Since its establishment, the IPMO has among other motives, consistently pursued to promote innovation through promotion, protection and commercialization of Intellectual Property. In order to achieve this focus and to generally promote Intellectual Property at the University, IPMO carries different activities including training, consultations, IP applications, networking, collaborating and connecting with stakeholders.

The University of Dar es salaam (UDSM) established Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO) to ensure that there is favorable environment that supports and encourages innovation and development in the course of research taking place within various academic programs in the University. UDSM brings together competent researchers in various fields with high technical capabilities. These researchers conduct studies which eventually come up with findings that represent a huge potential for forging links with the private sector in a manner that will steer economic and social development in the country and consequently, if properly tapped, may contribute immensely to the national economy and growth of private sector.

A number of activities have been implemented to achieve this focus and to generally promote Intellectual Property at the University. This page highlights in summary way, UDSM IPMO activities done different times in order to inform stakeholders about accomplishments, challenges and general progress of IP work in the University.
