Establishment of Auxiliary Police.
Auxiliary Police is a government agency created in accordance with the laws of the country, with the aim of helping to fulfill police duties in specific areas. The decision to establish the Auxiliary Police Ordinance Cap 262 of 1948 in Tanzania was reached in 1948 and the auxiliary police law chapter 262 was enacted. Due to the changes that have been made, the law is currently known as The Police Force and Auxiliary Services Act, Cp 322.
Administration, Management and Leadership of Auxiliary Police.
After the President approves the relevant areas to be allowed to start the Auxiliary Police, the President, through the Government Gazette, gives authority to the Inspector General of the Police Force to supervise and lead the Auxiliary Police forces on his behalf. (c/f. 128 of chapter 322).
