As the frequency and intensity of climate change events in countries around the world increases, it is today’s youth who will face the worst effects. The UNEP projects that by 2050 the human population will reach 9.6 billion and require three planets’ worth of resources to survive. Experts fear that many of the species of animals and plants we share the planet with will become extinct by the end of the century. To avert this crisis and to ensure the flourishing and survival of humanity, we must act now.

The Global Youth Climate Summit 2023 will bring together changemakers from diverse backgrounds, build their leadership skills, and empower them to lead the fight against climate change.

We will select 500 youth, aged between 18 and 32, to participate in the Summit. 300 youth will attend the program virtually and 200 youth will attend the program in person in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. 10 youth champions, representing climate vulnerable countries, will be competitively selected from the delegates and will each be awarded $1,000 for their climate action projects.
