At IDS, teaching is conducted in forms of lectures and seminars for all courses. We also offer compulsory University-wide courses, Development Perspectives I (DS 11 and Development Perspectives II (DS 113), for all first-year undergraduate students. All students are required to choose and register for seminars as per the University Timetable (available on UDSM Webpage). For the University-wide courses, students are strictly required to register according to their groups as they will be instructed during lectures by the instructors and group coordinators.
Seminars are conducted in form of group presentations and discussions on various development-related topics given to students in advance. The aim of the seminars is to stimulate critical thinking, develop problem solving skills, and instill confidence.
